Autism - different... not less

My oldest daughter "Tink" was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD level 2) on January 15th, 2013, after advocating and working with specialists, doctor and psychologist for most of her life.
Some may ask why would you want to label your child Autistic? She always has been, she was born with a uniqueness. My reasoning for the diagnosis was because even with an IEP academically  was not successful (we have a more work to do). As she gets older I worry about the future and ask myself will she be able to live by herself?  Will she be able to keep a job or even go to the interview without "Shutting down"? Would someone take advantage of her because she only sees the good in everyone? I got her diagnosed for the future, because someday I will not be here and she will need support.
